Aesthetics: Artists’ Description of Beauty in Creation

Aesthetics is a branch of science that deals with the study of the theory of aesthetics. It is the philosophy and study of the nature of beauty in the arts. Aesthetics play a very vital role in our daily life activities like talking, sitting, talking, eating, dressing, etc. Various senses along with feelings such as love, joy, hope, and amusement help us express our aesthetic feelings towards artifacts and expressive activities.

There are three types of theories in aesthetics. These are the adjectives imitative, liberal, formality, design characteristics, emotion, and expressive experience

I. Imitation and Liberal Attributes: Focuses on the realistic presentation of a topic, imitation of life, or what one sees in the real world. They include accurate representations of objects or things in nature. If you are looking for online aesthetic courses then you can search over the internet.

Second. Formalism and Design Characteristics: This theory of aesthetics emphasizes the design characteristics of an artifact. It focuses on the arrangement of the elements which are guided by principles of design or composition such as balance, unity, proportion, etc.

Third. Emotion and Expressive Experience: This aesthetic theory is concerned with the content of the artwork and the nature of the artwork to communicate a message to the viewer. It emphasizes the interpretation of the work and thus the philosophical, cultural, or symbolic meanings associated with the work. Emotion requires a strong connection, feeling, mood, or thoughts from the action to the viewer.

Although one or two of these aesthetic theories can be used to judge or criticize a work of art depending on the type and purpose of criticism, it is appropriate or better to use all three theories in criticizing a work of art. This is because if one limits oneself to only one of the aesthetic theories to appreciate and criticize a work of art, some unique or interesting aspects may not be discovered and for this reason, it is advised to apply the three theories in the criticism of a work of art.
